Boyer Children’s Clinic Speech and Language Therapy Speech pathologists work with infants and young children, individually and in groups, on the development of early cognitive skills considered necessary for language development, sound production, and receptive and expressive language. Non-vocal communication systems such as manual signing, picture exchange, communication boards, and electronic devices may be implemented for some children. Specialized treatment to improve oral motor function and feeding skills is provided primarily by speech pathologists, but may also be provided by occupational therapists or physical therapists. Boyer Children’s Clinic serves children from birth to teen years, with the majority being age four and younger. Children are referred because of concern about their development or because they have cerebral palsy or other neuromuscular delays. Children live primarily in the Seattle area, but also come from wider geographic areas under special circumstances. The children served at Boyer Children’s Clinic represent a wide diversity in culture and race. Families are representative of the diversity present in the Puget Sound region.

Feedback Rating 4, submitted by ab, 10/24/06 Have received great PT services from Gay Burton. My son did not attend preschool there so I can't comment on that. Rating 5, Submitted by Katy Banahan, 10/26/06 My son received all of his early intervention services at Boyer and I cannot recommend this wonderful program highly enough. The therapists and the pre-school program are absolutely first rate.
